Can anyone identify this unusual insect? This strange fellow made an appearance on our patio door a couple weeks ago. I've never seen anything like it before, and was wondering if any of you had an idea of what it is? His long, thin "tail"-like appendage was quite odd. It could stretch it out straight or curl it up like it is in the picture. Hmmm... Any "bug-ologists" out there that might be able to give our interesting visitor a name?

Definitely a cross between a dandy-long legs and a dragonfly.... :)We will call it a dandy fly!
